The AirpadX comes with an older version of the Android OS. What many don’t realize is that the AirPadX is a re-badged Zenithink ZT-280 tablet. You can easily update AirpadX to Android ICS using Zenithink’s image. Here’s a step by step.
Heads-up! This will wipe out everything stored on the tablet, but not the mini-sd card storage. Download the applicable Android ICS c91 image from Zenithink’s website. Determine the specific submodel of c91 tablet by checking the model on the barcode located on an edge of your tablet.
In the center of the barcode, you’ll see either a 2N, 3N or 3A. Determine your model, then follow the filecopy instructions as listed on the page at the above link.
After extracting the zip you downloaded, and copying the files listed, copy the zt-update folder into the root of your mini-sd card and insert it into your tablet. The next step can be the trickiest when you update your Airpadx to Android ICS. Hold down the camera button and press the power button on your AirpadX tablet. As soon as the screen flashes, release both buttons. It may take a few tries to get the timing right, but your tablet should recognize an update available on the card and start to replace the OS.
After about 5 or 10 minutes, you’ll have an updated AirpadX running on Android ICS!
